lightning

she is all fury and light.
dancing across with
brusque throws,
making the air around her
hiss
pop
crackle.
whips fall sharply,
everything around her
parting in stunned silence,
for deafening roars
tumble over each other,
as she rides through,
the barest of smiles
brushing her lips,
eyes bursting
with wild abandon.
for a split second,
the world freezes.
and then tilts
just a bit off-kilter,
falling into the empty space
her absence left behind.
